Woosong University’s SolBridge International School of Business has set a groundbreaking precedent as the first institution in South Korea to feature in the 2024 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. Securing the 1,350th position globally among 1,477 universities, SolBridge highlights its dedication to advancing sustainability and fostering environmentally conscious practices.

The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, established in 2010, is designed to measure universities’ sustainability efforts across six key criteria: water conservation, waste management, energy and climate change, transportation, infrastructure, and education on sustainability. Over the years, it has become a prestigious benchmark for institutions striving to implement green initiatives and create a lasting impact.

This year’s rankings saw participation from universities across 11 new countries, including South Korea, emphasizing the transformative role of higher education in promoting sustainable development. The results, announced at a ceremony hosted by the Universidade de São Paulo in Brazil, reflect a collective commitment to shaping greener campus communities and influencing positive change worldwide.
