The special lecture will be delivered by Mr. Shashi Maudgal, President, Novelis Asia. Novelis was acquired by Hindalco, a leading aluminum producer from India. As a senior manager of Hindalco, he has firsthand knowledge of the acquisition process and post-merger integration. Mr. Maudgal will share his insights on important aspects of Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions such as pre-merger negotiations, deal structure, due diligence, closing the deal, and post-merger integration aspects such as restructuring, successful systems and cultural integration.

Novelis provides innovative and high-quality aluminum products and solutions for a number of industries ranging from consumer Goods to Automotive and Industrial sectors. Novelis was acquired in 2007 by Hindalco Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, a multinational conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, India. With the addition of Novelis, Hindalco became the world's largest aluminum rolling company and one of the biggest producers of primary aluminum in Asia.
Novelis' sales offices and production sites span 11countries on four continents. Novelis Asian Operations are located in Korea, China, Malaysia, and Vietnam. In Korea, products are manufactured in two state-of-the art plants located in Ulsan & Yeongju.
About the Speaker
Shashi Maudgal graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology with a degree in Chemical Engineering, following which he earned his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management. He brings more than thirty years of managerial experience in a diverse range of global companies such as Novelis, Asian Paints, Hindustan CIBA-Geigy and Arvind Worldwide, spanning a number of industries. Currently, Mr. Maudgal is President, Novelis Asia with responsibilities for all Asian operations. His managerial experience in North America, India, and Korea puts him in the unique position of sharing a global perspective on management of multi-national corporations, combined with insights on Asian business and cross-cultural management.
